In life there are two kinds of people. Those who wear jeans, and those who wear jeans. At first glance, they are not so different. However, the first wear jeans in with carefully chosen them, and others have bought them without thinking about it too. What is good with jeans, it’s like a watch. You can wear a great John, who makes us absolutely proud, without anyone noticing.
Here is a small guide to be part of the first category of holders of jeans.
How to choose men’s jeans?
First step before making the purchase, you have to pick John color you desire. There are 5: raw denim, faded jeans, gray jeans, black jeans and white jeans.
Each color has its own character. Indeed, choose white denim is top in the summer (and why not in winter) but it is known as a very difficult to put John. He must indeed have the bottle to tune it with the rest of her outfit. The Italians are not too bad in this area.
The black jeans, meanwhile is connoted bad guy/rock. Well used, with a simple t-shirt and boots, the result gives virility to the outfit.
Choose a blue faded jeans is a great alternative. But unless you have a very large budget, most of the brands give made not very natural to the wash. That is why if we want a faded jeans, the best compromise is to choose a pair of raw jeans and wear it relentlessly. The wash will be natural and will reveal the soul of your jeans.
These three types of previous jeans are, however, not necessarily the more boilerplate, and are sometimes broken jaws. So, my advice is to choose a raw denim and gray jeans. The raw denim is the best friend of man, like the dog, because it adapts to many situations. With a shirt and the derbies he passes as well as with a t-shirt and sneakers. The dream. The jean grey has the same features, with the advantage to bring clarity to an outfit.
So the ideal is chosen two gross jeans and grey jeans. Two raw jeans allow to install a bearing and less damaging your precious pants, and gray jeans is an ally when temperatures rise.
Note that a nice color of John must be blurred on the John. One does not detect too sharp vertical lines, and the indigo blue (or grey) must have reflections.
So now for the Cup. Here again, we have a lot of choice. But we quickly realize that only two or three are sound. As a breakfast in an Ibis hotel. We have the choice between lots of stuff, but we final we all take the pastries.
Let us therefore focus on best suited to most of us: the semi-slim and straight, the tapered cut. Straight cut is a derivative of the straight cut, slightly more fitted to ankles and thighs. It allows those who have strong legs well out. Just like the tapered part of a straight cut at the thighs, which adjusts gradually to the ankle. Finally, the semi-slim is a straight cut but in still more fitted.
So there is no universal Cup. For men with long legs, semi-slim is perfect. Those who have them athletic and muscular should lean towards the tapered. Finally, those who have large calves and thighs are moving towards the straight.
It’s now only appears the gold issue. Should we choose to a selvedge jeans or not? Well first, let’s agree on what is a selvedge jeans, recognizable to the red border (or another color) are found all along the leg at the level of the inner seam.
Jeans is designed from a canvas of denim. This canvas can be selvedge or not. The difference? It lies just in the weave of the canvas. And more precisely in the weft wire. In the classic canvas the weft wire is cut at the end of roll, while it is not in the selvedge canvas. A schema is necessary:
The result is so obvious and lies in the strength of the canvas. The classic is effilochera, while the selvedge will have more consistency. However a selvedge canvas can be of poor quality, and a classic canvas can be of excellent quality. Everything lies in the will of the mark to produce the best possible fabrics.
It should be noted that generally the rolls of canvas selvedge are narrower. So for a linear meter of fabric selvedge we have actually less surface for a linear meter of classical painting. That necessarily affects the price.
So to the question: selvedge or not? I answer, it depends on your budget. Below € 90-100, the selvedge fabrics are not crazy, so all lean toward the classic canvas. Above, then the selvedge are starting to become a little more seriously, and can invest in beautiful selvedge denim trousers.
The paintings stand out also according to their mass. This is given in oz per square meter. Nothing to do with the wizard of oz, oz is a unit of American mass that represents 28 grams. This weight of the canvas will so testify to its thickness. If it is between 9 and 11 oz, the canvas will be light and suitable for the summer. Between 11 and 14 is the intermediary, and above it is very thick (very expensive also).
Hey, the canvas, it’s done. Now we’re talking the last important point, that will prove the investment that the brand is in the quality of its jeans. Denim has details of poor quality, then there is little chance that the canvas is good quality. The reverse is true.
What, then, are these small details to observe?
The seams must be clamped
There must be some breakpoints in sensitive areas (at the level of the rear pockets for example)
The back pockets may be doubled
The fabric of the pockets must be thick
Now that we’re aware of what to watch before choosing jeans, just place the cursor of the price. Afford a jean requires a budget, but we have all the means to invest more than € 150.
Less than €50
At this price there are only jeans at major retailers of fast fashion to be as competitive. The jeans are not excellent at Zara or H & M. However by having a discerning eye can choose jeans in classic canvas that do the job. Special mention to Uniqlo, which sells jeans selvedge € 49,90. For this price it’s not a crazy thing but enough for the winter!
Between €50 and €100
Most of the supply is within this range. There are food and drink. Within this range it is better to move towards historic brands, and wait for the sales. The classic Levi’s or Edwin paintings are perfectly sufficient, but are always beyond €90. So in this category sales are your best friends.
Between € 100 and € 150
It is in this price range that appear interesting quality selvedge jeans. My favorite being the one good rant, I never found as competitive. But Edwin, Naked And Famous, Nudie offer excellent selvedge jeans. It is also in this price range that the faded jeans are starting to be successful.
More than €150
Here we enter the jeans of excellent quality, seeking an investment but that will make us. All Japanese brands can be found (Momotaro, Japan Blue, Pure Blue Japan, Samurai Jeans and many more), like The iconic Levi’s Vintage. The problem is that these brands resulted almost never, so can not even wait for the sales. There is to pray for a multi-brand store wishes to lead them.
IN THE END, THE JEAN IS UNQUESTIONABLY A STRONG PIECE OF OUR LOCKER ROOM. BUT IT TAKES A DISCERNING EYE TO RECOGNIZE ITS GOOD QUALITY. THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE AND FOR EVERY BUDGET. DO NOT HESITATE TO COME BACK TO READ THIS ARTICLE IN THE FUTURE, IT HELPS TO REMEMBER THE RIGHT REFLEXES FOR HOW TO CHOOSE JEANS.
